Keeper of the First Flame
A small humanoid figure wrapped in tattered cloth, a single flame dancing above their palm. Basic iron bracers.
When a Cinder Rat finally gathers enough courage to reach into the dying forge and grasp a cooling ember with its bare hands, something extraordinary happens. The ember does not burn, it awakens. The creature transforms, standing upright for the first time, a single flickering flame dancing above an outstretched palm.
The Spark is the first step on the path of the forge. Wrapped in tattered cloth and wearing iron bracers salvaged from the scrap heap, The Spark is humble but determined. That single flame represents potential, raw, unrefined, but undeniable. The forge spirits take notice.
Most who reach this stage never progress further. The flame is fragile, easily extinguished by doubt or neglect. But for those who shield it, feed it, and carry it forward through the darkness of the forge tunnels, the fire grows.
